BRIDGWATER DUNWEAR

The new South Sydenham BRIDGWATER DUNWEAR WARD includes the lower portion of Parkway (Longstone and St Francis ends) across the Weston Zoyland road to the Bridge Estate. This Tory -Labour battleground  was won on May 5th by Labour candidates, Firefighter LEIGH REDMAN and Splash Campaigner IAN TUCKER.

Leigh Redman
Leigh Redman has always lived in Bridgwater. He attended Sydenham School before completing an apprenticeship at Hinkley Point. He has worked locally for a great part of his life and currently works as a Contract Manager throughout the west country.

Leigh has for over 19 years served as a Retained Fire Fighter at Bridgwater Fire station, where he is a union rep for the FBU, fighting for the rights of all. He is a member of the South West Trades Union Council and Bridgwater Trades council.
Leigh lives in Bridgwater with his wife Tracey and Daughter Holly, who is currently studying at Bridgwater College, in Dunwear ward.

 IAN TUCKER
Ian has lived in the area for over 33 years and took early retirement from a career as an engineer officer in the merchant navy.  He has been married to Sonia for 42 years and has 3 children and grandchildren who have been brought up in the Bridgwater area. Ian is a member of Bridgwater Forward and campaigned strongly against the demolition of Splash and the detrimental effect this has had on our young people and the town centre. He feels passionately about Bridgwater and is very concerned about how the Tory cuts will effect it and how to fight against them.
